Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
Shown below is the description for an assessment task I developed as part of one of my subjects. The task was a poster and presentation on the planets, in line with the stage three science curriculum. As a part of designing the assignment, I had to describe and justify how it would work. The description below meets the standard five focus area 5.1.1: 'demonstrate understanding of assessment strategies, including informal and formal, diagnostic, formative and summative approaches to assess student learning'. Within the task description, I detailed which type of assessment I had created, and why this was the case. The development of this assessment assisted in solidifying the concept of assessment types. The assessment incorporated both summative and diagnostic assessment strategies.
